DVO Suspension on HPC E-Bikes: Onyx DC, Diamond, Topaz and Jade Explained

DVO Onyx DC D1 200mm downhill fork

Several Hi Power Cycles bikes run DVO suspension, and we sell DVO forks and shocks on their own as upgrades. This guide explains each DVO model we use, what its adjustments actually do, and which HPC bike comes with which suspension, with links to each one.

Which HPC bikes come with which suspension

Bike Fork Rear shock
Trailblazer ($6,800) DVO Diamond E2, 160mm DVO Opal air, 155mm rear travel
Trailblazer Pro ($13,000) DVO Onyx 38SL (optional Öhlins RXF38 m.3 upgrade) DVO Topaz PRIME (optional Öhlins TTX2 Air upgrade)
Scout Pro ($8,000) DVO Diamond, 150mm, factory-tuned Hardtail
Revolution X ($15,000) RockShox Boxxer World Cup, 203mm; DVO package available RockShox Vivid R2C air; DVO package available
Revolution ($11,000) RockShox Boxxer RC, 203mm; DVO Onyx DC D1 Revolution Tune available RockShox Vivid R2C coil

Fork and shock specs come from each bike's product page. On the Trailblazer and Trailblazer Pro, DVO worked with HPC on the frame kinematics and supplies custom factory tunes. On the Trailblazer Pro and the Revolution X's DVO package, suspension is tuned to the individual owner's weight and riding style.

DVO Onyx DC D1: the 200mm downhill fork

The DVO Onyx DC D1 is DVO's dual-crown downhill fork, built for World Cup racing and long-travel riding. It's the DVO fork we offer for the Revolution.

  • Travel: 203mm
  • Wheel size: 29" (axle to crown 587mm)
  • Stanchions: 36mm
  • Axle: 20mm Boost, with a rotor spacer included for non-Boost wheels
  • Crown offset: 48mm
  • Brake mount: direct mount 203mm
  • Steerer: 1-1/8" aluminum
  • Starting weight: 2,900g

It comes in three versions: Standard (out of the box from DVO, $1,800), Custom Tuning / Travel Adjust built to your riding style ($1,900), and a Revolution Tune with a custom shim stack and valving developed for the Revolution ($1,950).

What the Onyx adjustments do

  • Low-speed compression (6 clicks): firm the fork up for pedaling, open it for descending, or pick a setting in between.
  • High-speed compression (30+ clicks): fine control over support on big hits and landings.
  • Dynamic rebound: a shim stack controls rebound according to how fast oil moves, so the fork responds to what the trail does.
  • OTT (Off The Top): DVO's own adjustment for how the first part of the stroke feels, without changing mid or end stroke.
  • AVA (Advanced Volume Adjust): changes the height of the air piston to tune end-stroke progression. It works alongside OTT to give you complete control of the air spring.

DVO Diamond: the trail and enduro single-crown fork

The DVO Diamond is the single-crown fork on our trail bikes. The Scout Pro runs a factory-tuned 150mm Diamond, and the Trailblazer runs the 160mm Diamond E2. It's a fork made for hard trail riding: stiff enough for the weight and torque of a high-power mid-drive, with DVO's OTT adjustment for tuning initial stroke feel.

DVO Topaz Gen III T3: the do-it-all air shock

The DVO Topaz Gen III T3 is DVO's tunable air shock for e-MTB, trail and enduro bikes. We stock it in the 185 x 55mm trunnion size that fits the Trailblazer.

  • T3 compression switch: three quick compression settings for climbing, trail and descending.
  • Low-speed rebound adjust.
  • Adjustable bladder pressure: changes the shock's character to suit your preference.
  • Positive and negative volume spacers: quick-clip spacers let you tune ramp-up at either end of the stroke.
  • Gen III updates: a 27% stronger inner shaft, a transverse reservoir layout for better oil flow and frame clearance, and cooling fins on the reservoir.

It ships with a carrying case, shock pump and volume spacers. Choose the standard tune ($379) or the Factory DVO Trailblazer Tune ($449), which arrives set up for the Trailblazer's kinematics.

DVO Jade: the coil shock

The DVO Jade Coil ($600) is DVO's premium coil shock. A coil spring gives a consistent, linear feel and stays very predictable on long, rough descents where air shocks can heat up and change character. That makes it a strong choice for heavy, high-power e-bikes and downhill riding. Rear shocks come in many sizes, so contact us with your bike and year and we'll confirm the right Jade for your frame.

Air or coil, single or dual crown?

  • Trail and enduro riding on a Trailblazer or Scout Pro: a Diamond fork and a Topaz air shock give light weight, lots of adjustment and an easy setup for your weight.
  • Bike park, downhill and high speeds on a Revolution: the Onyx DC D1 dual-crown fork, ideally in the Revolution Tune, paired with a coil shock such as the Jade, for maximum stiffness and control.
  • Not sure: tell us your bike, weight and where you ride, and we'll recommend a setup.
